A new report from the ETC/SCP examining the potency of a tool for focusing policy on Sustainable Consumption and Production. The tool applies input/output analysis to matrices combining environmental and economic data for whole economies (NAMEAs). The tool can be used to highlight environmental 'hotspots' emerging directly from a country or the EU's production activities, but can also reveal the national consumed products which are driving global environmental pressures. The tool is used in the report to identify hotspots in European consumption and production patterns with interesting results.
