This paper provides a mapping overview of the present state of recycling levels in the EU Member States and in the European Environment Agency member countries. It describes which waste streams have been regulated with EU recycling targets and how much are we currently recycling. It includes recycling on the following waste streams: Biodegradable Municipal Waste; Construction & Demolition Waste; End-of Life-Vehicles; Packaging Waste; Municipal Waste and Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment. The paper addresses whether countries with high recycling levels in one waste stream also perform well in others.The paper concludes that the European countries can be divided into three categories regarding recycling levels.
