The new SCP Action Plan is now available

The Communication on the Sustainable Consumption and Production and Sustainable Industrial Policy Action Plan from the Commission to the European Parliament, the Council, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions was announced on 16 July 2008.

The most important objectives included in the action plan are boosting eco-efficiency and eco-innovation and enhancing the environmental potential of industry. This will be achieved by supporting eco-design, environmental product labelling, the EMAS and green public procurement. The Action Plan aims to shift global market trends towards more sustainable products.
