Joint Eurostat and ETC/WMF workshop

We have the pleasure to announce that Eurostat and ETC/WMF will combine their respective Working Group meetings “Sub-Group Waste” and “EIONET Workshop” into one joint meeting. This Joint Workshop on “Waste Statistics and Information on Waste”, will take place in Athens, Greece from Wednesday 6 November until Friday 8 November 2002. The workshop is foreseen to begin on Wednesday in the morning (09:00) and to be closed around noon on Friday.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together the knowledge and experience of the two “networks” of both institutes. The main items of the workshop will be waste statistics, methodologies and the use of information provided. There will also be sessions where knowledge sharing and networking are considered to be important aspects. In view of the adoption of the Waste Statistics Regulation, the implementation of the EU Regulation will be on the agenda.

Following this announcement, invitations, including registration forms, will be sent to members of the respective networks. The registration forms are to be returned to the respective organisations no later than 15 September 2002.

Reimbursement will be given according to the rules of the respective networks: one person from each country for each network will be reimbursed; this means a total of two persons from each country.
