Workshop proceedings

On 11 and 12 October 2001, the Topic Centre held its fourth EIONET workshop in Bratislava, Slovak Republic.

It was the first ETC/WMF workshop with participants from the new member countries of the European Environment Agency (EEA). All together 54 experts from 25 countries attended the workshop as well as representatives from EU and international bodies such as EEA, EUROSTAT, the JRC and the Secretariat of the Basel Convention.

A pre-meeting was held on 10 October to welcome the new EEA member countries (represented by 18 experts from 12 countries). The main purpose of this meeting was to inform the new EEA members on the background of the Topic Centre and to highlight previous and future activities.
