Wastebase is launched

The objective of the ETC/WMF is to provide the Community and the Member States with objective, reliable and comparable information about waste and waste management in Europe enabling policy makers to take the requisite measures to protect the environment, to assess the results of such measures and to ensure that the public is properly informed about waste and waste management in Europe.

The results of the activities are available in publications, but are, to the extent possible, also structured electronically in a search facility database; the Wastebase. Fully implemented, Wastebase will give policy makers, researchers and the public access to the most relevant and up-dated information about waste and waste management at European level.
